Pursuant to the motion adopted by the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development on Thursday, February 4, 2016, and the motion adopted by the Subcommittee on Thursday, March 23, 2017, the Subcommittee commenced its study of the human rights situation in the Dadaab Refugee Camp in Kenya.

Jean-Nicolas Beuze, Abdirahman Haiye, by videoconference from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Ahmed Mohamed, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, made statements and answered questions.

The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Subcommittee business.

It was agreed, — That a budget proposal for travel to Geneva, Switzerland in the fall of 2017 be submitted to the Liaison Committee by the Thursday, May 4, 2017, deadline.

At 1:54 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
