2017 Centennial Flame Research Award
Pursuant to the Centennial Flame Research Award Act, the Committee commenced its study of the 2017 Centennial Flame Research Award.

It was agreed, — That the amount for the 2017 Centennial Flame Research Award be set at $5,500; that the deadline for submitting an application be set at Friday, June 30, 2017; and that a press release be published on the Committee's website.

Committee Business
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $6,750, for the study of Bill C-243, An Act respecting the development of a national maternity assistance program strategy and amending the Employment Insurance Act (maternity benefits), be adopted.

At 11:27 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:59 a.m., the sitting resumed in a public and televised session.

Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2017-18: Vote 1 under Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, Vote 1 under Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety, Votes 1 and 5 under Department of Employment and Social Development, referred to the Committee on Thursday, February 23, 2017.

The Chair called Vote 1 under Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.

The ministers made statements and, with Louise Levonian and Lori Sterling, answered questions.

At 12:34 p.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.

At 12:53 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:20 p.m., the sitting resumed.

At 2:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
