Madam Chair, my motion is that the committee undertake a study on the supplementary estimates (A), 2017-18.

Madam Chair, as I said, my motion is that the committee undertake a study of the supplementary estimates (A), 2017-18, and hopefully we'll be able to hold that on the upcoming Monday.

Okay. That's unanimous. We're going to do our best to get it done Monday.
On Monday, we're going to do this for an hour. We don't need a technical briefing. Are we going to try to do the whole...?
There's another thing we need to get ready before we rise. John has a proposal so that over the summer we can start getting ready for the.... He would like a chance to present that to us just to make sure that we agree on that plan. Can we do that on Monday?
Would Monday work, John?
As you are all aware, we have Peter Van Loan, and I was wondering, if John is going to make a presentation, would it be appropriate for me to ask Peter if he might want to come here to give us his concept of what he's looking at so we all understand a little better.
No. I have a group that I've been working with to frame the study and come up with a potential witness list. We're meeting on Tuesday, June 6, at 3:30. I can have it the next day. I assume that I can kick it into translation that night. It's not going to take long, so I'd have it on Wednesday.
What we'll do if we're going to do this is that we're going to do the supplementaries on Monday, if we can. We're going to work towards that.
Did you guys want to take an hour for the supplementaries and then have the other hour for Van Loan? We don't need to brief for the trip anymore, so we'd have Van Loan come and talk. Is that what you wanted to do?
The Van Loan bill is going to require.... It's not just him coming to speak. There's also—
Would you vote in favour of it?
Mr. Jim Eglinski: I might.
Mr. Mark Gerretsen: You would vote in favour of a bill when you didn't know what you were voting on?
A number of us put forward witnesses for the study that John was talking about.
The Chair: Yes.
Mr. Mark Gerretsen: Does the clerk's office have that?
The Chair: John has it.
Mr. Mark Gerretsen: Are you still in possession of the list of witnesses that was put forward?
Here's what I'd like to do, John. Can you bring that motion back? We have not officially voted on it.
We can do that on Monday.
We can vote on it, but you were going to give us the plan. We'll vote on the motion, and then you can give us the plan subsequently.
Yes. On Monday, I can bring what the draft plan was, but by Wednesday I'll have the finalized one.
The Chair: It can be circulated after.
Mr. John Aldag: Actually, I'd like the input of the committee, so I could get that on Monday, and then on Wednesday.... If anybody has any other thoughts, they can send them to me.
