Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Monday, March 21, 2016, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-6, An Act to amend the Citizenship Act and to make consequential amendments to another Act.

Shimon Fogel, Elke Winter and Peter Edelmann made statements and answered questions.

A point of order was raised by David Tilson regarding the ability of the Chair to participate in the questioning of witnesses and the allocation of time for the questioning.

The Chair ruled that the allocated time slots for the questioning of witnesses were complete, and that according to House of Commons Procedure and Practice, the Chair is allowed to participate in the questioning of witnesses.

At 11:58 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:04 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Richard Kurland, Avvy Go, Vincent Wong and Stephen Green made statements and answered questions.

At 12:51 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:57 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Minister be invited to appear before the Committee regarding the 2016 Immigration Levels Plan on a different day.

It was agreed, — That a Subcommittee meeting be held on Monday, May 2, 2016.

It was agreed, — That the Chair be afforded the opportunity to ask questions in committee using Liberal time from previous time slots.

At 1:13 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
