Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, March 3, 2022, the committee resumed its study of assessment of Canada’s security posture in relation to Russia.

David A Etkin, Paul Goode and Adam Lajeunesse made statements and answered questions.

At 12:02 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:07 p.m., the sitting resumed in public.

Andrea Charron and Marcus Kolga made statements and answered questions.

Motion

Taleeb Noormohamed moved, — That the evidence and documentation received by the committee during the 2nd Session of the 43rd Parliament on the subject of Ideologically Motivated Violent Extremism be taken into consideration by the committee in the current session.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 12:43 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:47 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Pursuant to the order of reference of Tuesday, December 7, 2021, the committee resumed its study of gun control, illegal arms trafficking and the increase in gun crimes committed by members of street gangs.

It was agreed on division, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "A Path Forward: Reducing Gun and Gang Violence in Canada".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12-point font, left aligned, single-spaced, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee, not later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

At 1:03 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
