The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study of up to 2 meetings, at a time to be determined, regarding the ownership structure in the Canadian Pulp and Paper Industry specifically in relation to reports concerning the company Paper Excellence. That the committee invite the CEO of Paper Excellence, Jackson Wijaya, as well as Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, and appropriate officials, as well as other relevant witnesses, to discuss the ownership structure and business relations of Paper Excellence Corporation, and that the committee report these findings back to Parliament.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $ 28,948.06, for the study of Canada’s clean energy plans in the context of North American energy transformation, be adopted.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, March 21, 2022, the committee resumed its study of creating a fair and equitable Canadian energy transformation.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

At 10:46 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
