Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the subcommittee on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, the Subcommittee resumed its study of recognition of international human rights champions.

Peter Fonseca, M.P. (Mississauga East—Cooksville) made a statement.

The Speaker of the House of Commons made a statement.

Tamara Adrián, Walid al-Hathloul, and Shaparak Shajarizadeh made statements.

Kenny Chiu, M.P. (Steveston—Richmond East), Alexis Brunelle-Duceppe, M.P. (Lac-Saint-Jean), Heather McPherson, M.P.(Edmonton Strathcona) and Peter Fonseca, M.P. (Mississauga East—Cooksville) made statements.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the subcommittee’s study of Recognition of International Human Rights Champions, the Clerk, in consultation with the Chair, have certificates framed, and, accompanied by gifts purchased by the members of the subcommittee, the certificates be shipped to the award recipients or their designated representatives.

At 7:11 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
