Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Friday, October 9, 2020, the committee commenced its study of urban, rural, and northern Indigenous housing.

Romy Bowers, Chantal Marin-Comeau, Janet Goulding, and Chad Westmacott, made statements and, with Lindsay Neeley, and Kris Johnson, answered questions.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

On motion of Adam Vaughan, it was agreed, — That the committee direct the Chair to respond to the Parliamentary Budget Officer and expand the scope of their study on urban, rural, and northern Indigenous housing, by adding the following:

  • A full assessment of provincial transfers and expenditures on urban, rural, and northern Indigenous housing.
  • A full assessment of National Housing Strategy programs, including cost-shared programs, which fund urban, rural, and northern Indigenous housing.
  • A full assessment of the administrative costs of federal departments who administer urban, rural, and northern Indigenous housing.

At 8:28 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
