Pursuant to the order of reference of Tuesday, February 16, 2021, the committee commenced consideration of Bill C-10, An Act to amend the Broadcasting Act and to make related and consequential amendments to other Acts.

The witnesses made statements.

At 1:27 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 2:39 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Minister of Canadian Heritage be invited for Monday, March 8, 2021, for the study of Bill C-10, An Act to amend the Broadcasting Act and to make related and consequential amendments to other Acts.

It was agreed, — That the committee hear the witnesses scheduled for the second panel of Friday, February 5, namely, the Union des artistes (UDA), the Fédération nationale des communications et de la culture (FNCC) and Friends of Canadian Broadcasting, in order to continue their testimony.

It was agreed, — That the witnesses scheduled for Friday, February 19, 2021, be reinvited to testify before the committee on Friday, March 12, 2021.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $8,050, for the study of Bill C-10, An Act to amend the Broadcasting Act and to make related and consequential amendments to other Acts, be adopted.

At 3:26 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
