Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3) and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, the committee commenced its study to review the safeguards in place to prevent conflicts of interest in federal government expenditure policies.

It was agreed, — That pursuant to the motion adopted on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, that Speakers’ Spotlight be allowed to submit the requested documents no later than Wednesday, August 19, 2020 instead of Wednesday, July 29, 2020 as first agreed to in the motion.

It was agreed, — That the second Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in:

Your subcommittee met on Thursday, July 23, 2020, to consider the business of the committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

That in relation to its study on the Review of the Safeguards in Place to Prevent Conflicts of Interest in Federal Government Expenditure Policies, Members submit their list of suggested witnesses for Subcommittee consideration by Monday, July 27, 2020.

That the Clerk invite the following witnesses for Thursday, July 30, 2020:

• The Law Clerk and Parliamentary Council of the House of Commons

• Mary Dawson

• Karen Shepherd

• Thomas Hall

• Luc Begin

That the following witnesses also be invited:

• The Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister

• The Honourable Bill Morneau, Minister of Finance

• The Honourable Bardish Chagger, Minister of Diversity and Inclusion and Youth

• The Honourable Carla Qualtrough Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Disability Inclusion

• Katie Telford

That other witnesses be agreed upon and invited for subsequent meetings.
