Meeting Requested by Four Members of the Committee to Discuss their Request to Undertake a Study of the Spending Priorities of the Department of Citizenship and Immigration
Pursuant to Standing Order 106(4), the committee commenced consideration of the request by four members of the committee to undertake a study of the Spending Priorities of the Department of Citizenship and Immigration.

On motion of Peter Kent, it was agreed, — That the committee commence a study of the spending priorities of the Department of Citizenship and Immigration, and invite the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship to appear before the committee for no less than one hour to answer questions from members on the spending priorities of the Department of Citizenship and Immigration.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, the committee commenced its study of spending priorities of the Department of Citizenship and Immigration.

At 11:06 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:08 a.m., the sitting resumed.

At 11:10 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:46 a.m., the sitting resumed.

The minister made a statement and answered questions.

At 12:46 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:55 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Catrina Tapley, Daniel Mills and Marian Campbell Jarvis, by videoconference from Ottawa, Ontario, answered questions.

At 1:58 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
