Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Tuesday, October 4, 2016, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-22, An Act to establish the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians and to make consequential amendments to certain Acts.

Suzanne Legault made a statement and answered questions.

At 4:31 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:35 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Third Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in as amended:

Your Subcommittee met on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, to consider the business of the Committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

1. That for the first hour of the meeting of Tuesday, December 6, 2016, the Director of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) be invited to appear in relation with the retention of data by CSIS and the Federal Court decision of Thursday, November 3, 2016; and that for the second hour the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness and the Director of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service be invited to appear with officials for the Committee’s study of the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2016-17 and in relation with the retention of data by CSIS and the Federal Court decision of Thursday, November 3, 2016.

2. That pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee invite the Correctional Investigator to appear on Thursday, December 1, 2016, in relation to his Annual Report 2015-16.

At 4:59 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
