Patrick Borbey made a statement and answered questions.
Alupa A. Clarke moved, — That, in relation to the briefing on the use of national security exceptions, the Committee invite the Minister of National Defence to appear before the Committee no later than on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, to substantiate the use of the exception contained in paragraph 3(1)(g) of the Government Contracts Regulations regarding fighter jet procurement; and that every efforts be made to ensure that the appearance of the Minister be televised.
Debate arose thereon.
Yasmin Ratansi moved, — That the debate be now adjourned.
The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 6; NAYS: 0.
The Committee resumed consideration of the certificate of nomination of Patrick Borbey to the position of President of the Public Service Commission. Questioning of the witness resumed.
Erin Weir moved, — That the Committee resume debate on the motion moved by Alupa Clarke on Tuesday, April 11, 2017.
The question was put on the motion and it was negatived, by a show of hands: YEAS: 3; NAYS: 6.

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.
It was agreed, — That the draft report be adopted.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the briefing on the use of national security exceptions, the Members of the Committee submit to the Clerk of the Committee their list of witnesses as soon as possible by Thursday, April 13, 2017.
