2016 Census Language Data: Overestimation of the Growth of English in Quebec

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(f) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, the Committee commenced its study of the 2016 Census language data: overestimation of the growth of English in Quebec.

Marc Hamel made a statement and, with Jean-Pierre Corbeil, answered questions.

At 4:38 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:46 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Committee Business
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Minister of Canadian Heritage appear on Thursday, December 7, 2017, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. to inform the Committee about the Official Languages Annual Report 2015-16.

At 5:27 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
