The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on March 8, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of the declaration of health emergency by First Nations communities in Northern Ontario.

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Declaration of Health Emergency by First Nations Communities in Northern Ontario".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(1)(b), dissenting or supplementary opinions or recommendations be submitted electronically to the Clerk, in both official languages, Arial 12, single spaced, no later than 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

At 4:29 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:33 p.m., the sitting resumed in a televised setting.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, the Committee proceeded to a briefing on the mandate letter of the Minister of Environment and Climate Change.

The Minister made a statement and, with Ron Hallman and Daniel Watson, answered questions.

At 5:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
