By unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.
Dan Albas moved, — That the Committee invite the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, as well as the Minister of Finance and departmental officials, to appear during an additional meeting on the study of the Canadian Real Estate Market and Home Ownership.
Debate arose thereon.
After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 5; NAYS: 1.
Ajay Soni, François Vincent and Georges Lambert made statements.
At 3:54 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 4:21 p.m., the sitting resumed.
Michael Lloyd and Paul Taylor made statements.
It was agreed, — That Jennifer O'Connell replace Steven MacKinnon as a Member of the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure of the Standing Committee on Finance.
Canadian Real Estate Home Ownership
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of the Canadian Real Estate Market and Home Ownership.
Nicholas Hamblin, François Vincent, Paul Taylor, Michael Lloyd, Ajay Soni, Georges Lambert and Kim McKenney, answered questions.
At 4:50 p.m., Ron Liepert took the Chair.
At 5:15 p.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.
At 5:33 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 6:12 p.m., the sitting resumed.
Stephen Smith, Andrew Charles, Bob Finnigan, Sherry Donovan and Tamara Barker Watson made statements and, with Jason Burggraaf, answered questions.
At 7:34 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
