Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Wednesday, November 8, 2017, the Committee commenced consideration of Bill C-63, A second Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 22, 2017 and other measures.

Ian Lee, Hassan Yussuff, Chandra Pasma, Elizabeth Dandy, Benjamin Davis, Katie Walmsley, and Eric Adelson made statements and, with Vicky Smallman, answered questions.

At 4:58 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:04 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Michael McDonald, Kate McInturff, Corinne Pohlmann, Cory Mulvihill, and Theresa Agnew made statements and answered questions.

At 5:44 p.m., the Hon. Pierre Poilievre took the Chair.

At 5:52 p.m., the Hon. Wayne Easter took the Chair.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

Motion

Pierre-Luc Dusseault moved, — That, given ongoing media revelations that could implicate some Canadians in aggressive tax avoidance or tax evasion, the Committee invite Stephen Bronfman, Revenue Chair for the Liberal Party of Canada; and Leo Kolber, former Senator and former chief fundraiser for the Liberal Party of Canada, to appear before the Standing Committee on Finance before November 30, 2017, to answer questions relating to their offshore assets in jurisdictions that are considered to be tax havens.

Jennifer O'Connell moved, — That the debate on the motion be now adjourned.
