Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Thursday, April 14, 2016, and section 20 of the Freezing Assets of Corrupt Foreign Officials Act, the Committee resumed the statutory review of the Freezing Assets of Corrupt Foreign Officials Act and the Special Economic Measures Act.

Gerry Ferguson, by videoconference from Victoria, British Columbia, and Gretta Fenner, by videoconference from New York, New York, made statements and answered questions.

At 4:37 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:42 p.m., the sitting resumed.

• Chang Ping, Journalist
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced its study of the human rights situation in China.

Chang Ping made a statement in Chinese and, through Gloria Y. Fung of the Canada-Hong Kong Link, answered questions.

At 5:33 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
