Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the Clerk of the Committee presided over the election of a Vice-Chair.

On motion of Robert Sopuck, it was agreed, — That the Hon. Ed Fast be elected First Vice-Chair of the Committee.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, June 5, 2017, the Committee commenced its study of heritage preservation and protection in Canada.

Joëlle Montminy, Natalie Bull, Richard M. Alway and Martin Magne made statements and, with Genevieve Charrois, answered questions.

At 10:35 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:39 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $18,900, for the study of heritage preservation and protection in Canada, be adopted.

At 10:42 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
