The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

At 3:50 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 3:52 p.m., the sitting resumed.

It was agreed, — That, the Committee undertake two meetings to consider the subject matter of the sections of Bill C-86, A second Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on February 27, 2018 and other measures, that were referred to it by the Standing Committee on Finance, on Tuesday, October 30, 2018; that, the meeting on Tuesday, November 6, be reserved to receive expert testimony; and, that the meeting of Thursday, November 8, include an in camera discussion of possible recommendations.

At 4:08 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:12 p.m., the sitting resumed in public.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 1, 2018, the Committee resumed its study of clean growth and climate change in Canada: international leadership.

Motion

Ed Fast moved, — That the Committee request that the Minister of Environment and Climate Change appear before the Committee to explain the government's recently announced carbon pricing scheme.

Motion

Mike Lake moved, — That the debate be now adjourned.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 9; NAYS: 0.

Michael Andrade, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, Catherine Abreu, Christopher Ragan and Dominique Charron made statements and answered questions.

At 5:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
