Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, the Committee resumed its study of the Immigration and Refugee Board's appointment, training and complaint processes.

Asiya Jennifer Hirji and Nastaran Roushan made statements and answered questions.

By unanimous consent, ORDERED, — That the analysts prepare a summary of complaints processes for other quasi-judicial administration tribunals at the federal or provincial/territorial levels and, if there are, examples of complaints processes for the judiciary or justices of the peace and/or professional regulatory bodies.

At 12:01 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:07 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Bashir Khan, by videoconference from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Chantal Desloges and Raoul Boulakia made statements and answered questions.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

On motion of Vance Badawey, ORDERED, — That the Chair be instructed to seek the unanimous consent of the House to modify the Fourteenth Report of the Committee presented on Thursday, November 9, 2017, to substitute the name of the organization “Talent Beyond Borders” by “Talent Beyond Boundaries”.

By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That with regard to the study of the Immigration and Refugee Board's appointment, training and complaint processes the analysts prepare a summary of evidence.

At 1:01 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
