Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of the State of Canadian Museums.

John McAvity, Manon Blanchette, Karen Bachmann and Susan Burrows-Johnson made statements and answered questions.

At 9:47 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:50 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft interim report.

It was agreed, — That the interim draft report be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the draft interim report be kept confidential.

It was agreed, — That the Committee travel to Kamloops (BC), Edmonton (AB), Winnipeg (MAN) and Windsor (ON) in the fall of 2016, in relation to its study on the Media and Local Communities; and that seven (7) members do travel.

It was agreed, — That the Committee travel to St. John's (NFL), Sackville (NS) and Granby (QC) in the fall of 2016, in relation to its study on the Media and Local Communities; and that seven (7) members do travel.

It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a draft budget respecting the Committee's proposed travel to Kamloops (BC), Edmonton (AB), Winnipeg (MAN), Windsor (ON), St-John's (NL), Sackville (NS) and Granby (QC), in relation to its study of the Media and the Local Communities, for consideration by the Committee on Thursday, June 16, 2016.

At 10:46 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
