The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

Motion

Phil McColeman moved, — That the Committee invite the Acting Minister of Veterans Affairs to appear on the Supplementary Estimates (B) on February 25 or 27, 2019.

Debate arose thereon.

At 4:16 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:29 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The Committee resumed consideration of the motion.

On motion of Doug Eyolfson, it was agreed, — That the motion be amended by adding after the words “February 25 or 27, 2019” the following: “or the subject matter of the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2018-19 and the subject matter of the Interim Estimates 2019-20 on March 18, 2019”.

The debate on the motion, as amended, continued.

After debate, the question was put on the motion, as amended, and it was agreed to.

The motion, as amended, read as follows:

That the Committee invite the Acting Minister of Veterans Affairs to appear on the Supplementary Estimates (B) on February 25 or 27, 2019 on the subject matter of the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2018-19 and on the subject matter of the Interim Estimates 2019-20 on March 18, 2019.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, November 9, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of medical cannabis and veterans’ well-being.

Philippe Lucas, by videoconference from Sydney, Australia, Tony P. George, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, Mark James and Ramesh Zacharias made statements and answered questions.

At 5:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
