The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met in camera at 12:59 p.m. this day, in Room C-110, 1 Wellington Street, the Chair, Larry Miller, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Harold Albrecht, Marjolaine Boutin-Sweet, Peter Braid, Hoang Mai, David J. McGuinty, Larry Miller, Mike Sullivan, Lawrence Toet and Jeff Watson.

 

Acting Members present: Paul Dewar for Olivia Chow, Cheryl Gallant for Ed Komarnicki and Hon. Gordon O'Connor for Wai Young.

 

In attendance: House of Commons: Chad Mariage, Procedural Clerk. Library of Parliament: Allison Padova, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee undertake a study on the recent changes announced by Canada Post; that no more than three further sitting hours on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, be dedicated to the study; and that representatives from Canada Post, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, the Conference Board of Canada, the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, the Council of Canadians with Disabilities, the C.D. Howe Institute and the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, as well as Dr. Robert Campbell of Mount Allison University, be invited to appear in relation to the study.

 

At 1:02 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
