The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in a televised session at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, David Christopherson, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Dan Albas, Malcolm Allen, John Carmichael, David Christopherson, Ted Falk, Alain Giguère and Stephen Woodworth.

Acting Members present: Bev Shipley for Bryan Hayes and Adam Vaughan for Yvonne Jones.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Édison Roy-César, Analyst ; Alex Smith, Analyst.

Witnesses: Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Michael Ferguson, Auditor General of Canada; Richard Domingue, Principal. Department of Finance: Andrew Marsland, Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, Tax Policy Branch; Geoff Trueman, General Director (Analysis), Tax Policy Branch; Maude Lavoie, Director, Intergovernmental Tax Policy, Evaluation and Research Division, Tax Policy Branch; Miodrag Jovanovic, Director, Personal Income Tax, Tax Policy Branch. Canada Revenue Agency: Costa Dimitrakopoulos, Director General, Legislative Policy Directorate , Legislative Policy and Regulatory Affairs Branch.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g), the Committee commenced consideration of Chapter 3, Tax-Based Expenditures, of the Spring 2015 Report of the Auditor General of Canada to the Committee on Tuesday, April 28, 2015.

Michael Ferguson, Andrew Marsland and Costa Dimitrakopoulos made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 5:08 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
