The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in a televised session at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, David Christopherson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dan Albas, Malcolm Allen, Jay Aspin, David Christopherson, Ted Falk, Alain Giguère, Bryan Hayes and Stephen Woodworth.

 

Acting Members present: Corneliu Chisu for John Carmichael and Scott Simms for Yvonne Jones.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Daniel Benatuil, Analyst; Alex Smith, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Marian McMahon, Assistant Auditor General; Heather Miller, Director. Canada Revenue Agency: Richard Montroy, Assistant Commissioner, Compliance Programs Branch; Gina Jelmini, Director, Offshore Compliance Division.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, December 2, 2013, the Committee commenced consideration of Chapter 9, Offshore Banking — Canada Revenue Agency, of the Fall 2013 Report of the Auditor General of Canada, referred to the Committee on Tuesday, November 26, 2013.
 

Marian McMahon and Richard Montroy made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 5:03 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:07 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That correspondence received from P.S Knight Co. Ltd be referred to the Office of the Auditor General.

 

By unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.

 

It was agreed, — That on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, the Committee consider draft reports.

 

It was agreed, — That on Monday, March 24, 2014, the Committee consider draft reports.

 

It was agreed, — That on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, pursuant to the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, December 2, 2013, the Committee hold a public hearing on Chapter 7 — Oversight of Rail Safety — Transport Canada, of the Fall 2013 Report of the Auditor General of Canada.

 

At 5:19 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
