The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met in camera at 8:47 a.m. this day, in Room 268, The Valour Building, the Chair, David Tilson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Jay Aspin, Lysane Blanchette-Lamothe, Jim Eglinski, Chungsen Leung, Irene Mathyssen, Hon. John McCallum, Costas Menegakis, Jasbir Sandhu, Devinder Shory and David Tilson.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Julie Béchard, Analyst; Sandra Elgersma, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Engineers Canada: Kim Allen, Chief Executive Officer. Immigrant Employment Council of British Columbia: Kelly Pollack, Chief Executive Officer. As an individual: Kristyn Frank. BioTalent Canada: Robert Henderson, President and Chief Executive Officer. Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council: Margaret Eaton, Executive Director.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $31,150.00, for the study of Promoting Economic Prosperity through Settlement Services, be adopted.

 

At 8:51 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 8:52 a.m., the sitting resumed in public.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 19, 2015, the Committee resumed its study of promoting economic prosperity through settlement services.
 

Kim Allen, Kelly Pollack and Kristyn Frank made statements and answered questions.

 

At 9:53 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:57 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Rob Henderson and Margaret Eaton made statements and answered questions.

 

At 10:48 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
