The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met in camera at 8:46 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, David Tilson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Jay Aspin, Lysane Blanchette-Lamothe, Jim Eglinski, Chungsen Leung, Irene Mathyssen, Hon. John McCallum, Costas Menegakis, Devinder Shory and David Tilson.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Julie Béchard, Analyst; Sandra Elgersma, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 6, 2014, the Committee resumed its study on the strengthening the protection of women in our immigration system.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Strengthening the Protection of Women in our Immigration System".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House during the week of February 23, 2015.

 

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the routine motion adopted Tuesday, October 29, 2013, every party shall have the right to attach as an annex a dissenting opinion and that this dissenting opinion shall be submitted to the Clerk of the Committee no later than Tuesday, February 10, 2015, in both official languages.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

At 10:43 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
