The Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs met at 11:37 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Vice-Chair, Peter Stoffer, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Sylvain Chicoine, Parm Gill, Hon. Laurie Hawn, Bryan Hayes, Wladyslaw Lizon, Ben Lobb, Manon Perreault and Peter Stoffer.

 

Acting Members present: Sean Casey for Hon. Jim Karygiannis, Isabelle Morin for John Rafferty and Brad Trost for Corneliu Chisu.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jean-Rodrigue Paré, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of Veterans Affairs: Keith Hillier, Assistant Deputy Minister, Service Delivery; Anne-Marie Pellerin, Director, Case Management and Support Services; Nathalie Pham, Manager, Client Service Team, Montreal Office.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Thursday, October 17, 2013 and section 20.1 of the Enhanced New Veterans Charter Act, the Committee resumed the statutory review of the Act - Case management and rehabilitation.
 

Keith Hillier made a statement and, with Anne-Marie Pellerin and Nathalie Pham, answered questions.

 

At 12:45 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:47 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the scheduled meeting with Jim Scott and two representatives of Equitas be moved from Thursday, December 5 to Tuesday, December 10 and that the Committee hold committee business at the end of that meeting.

 

It was agreed, — That, on Thursday, December 5th, the Committee not hold a formal meeting so that members of the Committee, as individuals, can attend a meeting (or briefing) with senior Veterans Affairs Canada officials regarding the New Veterans Charter.

 

At 12:51 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
