The Standing Committee on Natural Resources met in camera at 8:55 a.m. this day, in Room 268, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Leon Benoit, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mike Allen, David Anderson, Leon Benoit, Blaine Calkins, Joe Daniel, Anne-Marie Day, Royal Galipeau, Claude Gravelle, François Lapointe, Kennedy Stewart and Brad Trost.

 

Acting Members present: Sean Casey for David J. McGuinty and Blake Richards for Joe Daniel.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages, Analyst; Mohamed Zakzouk, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite the Minister of Natural Resources to appear before the Committee regarding the Main Estimates, 2012-13, on Tuesday, March 27, 2012; that the Minister attend Committee for the first hour and that officials from the Department remain for the entire two-hour Committee meeting; and that the meeting be televised.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee proceed to sit in public.

 

At 9:01 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:03 a.m., the sitting resumed in public.

 

Claude Gravelle moved, — That the Committee study the merits of restoring and making the ecoENERGY Retrofit Homes program permanent, by reviewing Canada’s experience with the program, including its benefits to homeowners, business and the environment and that the committee report its findings to the House.

Debate arose thereon.

 

The question was put on the motion and it was negatived, by a show of hands: YEAS: 4; NAYS: 6.

 

At 9:12 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:12 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on December 14, 2011, the Committee resumed its study on the current and future state of oil and gas pipelines and refining capacity in Canada.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

At 10:45 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
