The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met at 11:03 a.m. this day, in Room 228, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Pat Martin, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dan Albas, Jay Aspin, Denis Blanchette, Kelly Block, Peter Braid, Hon. Ron Cannan, Linda Duncan, Jacques Gourde, Pat Martin, Hon. John McCallum, Mathieu Ravignat and Bernard Trottier.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. John Duncan for Kelly Block.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Raphaelle Deraspe, Analyst; Lindsay McGlashan, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Caneta Research Inc.: Doug Cane, Principal. Building Professionals: Laverne Dalgleish, Principal. Building Owners and Managers Association of Ottawa: Dean Karakasis, Executive Director. Global Resource Efficiency Services: Brian Staszenski, General Manager, North American Office.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c)(iv) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, September 27, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of energy efficiency in government buildings, structures and public works.
 

Laverne Dalgleish, Dean Karakasis, Brian Staszenski and Doug Cane made statements and answered questions.

 

At 12:48 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:49 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That, if they so choose, the political parties may submit their questions to the clerk electronically for the ministers and officials appearing at the meetings on the 2013-2014 Main Estimates, to be held Thursday, May 2 and Tuesday, May 7, 2013, provided that they do so no later than Thursday, April 25, 2013, and that this does not prevent Committee members from asking any questions they wish during these meetings.

 

At 1:10 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
