It was agreed, — That the Eighth Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in:
Your Subcommittee met on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, to consider the business of the Committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:
1. That the appearance of P. Thomas Jenkins for the review of his Order in Council appointment to the position of Special Advisor to the Minister of Public Works and Government Services be no longer required, provided that the Committee reserves the option to ask officials from this department to appear at a later date to report on the work of the individual in question;
2. That the appearance of the Parliamentary Budget Officer regarding the study of the government’s response to the Committee’s Seventh Report scheduled for Thursday, November 1, 2012, be cancelled, and that the Committee instead dedicate this meeting to additional hearings for the study on the effectiveness of public-private partnerships in the delivery of government services, on the condition that the last 15 minutes of the meeting be devoted to instructing the analysts on drafting the report on this study;
3. That the meeting of Thursday, November 8, 2012, be cancelled, since the House of Commons will sit according to the daily order of business of a Friday by special order;
4. That, notwithstanding any prior decision, the series of public hearings on energy efficiency in government buildings, structures and public works begin with the meeting of Thursday, November 29, 2012, and extend to December 4, 6 and 11, 2012;
5. That the Department and Minister of Public Works and Government Services and the Privy Council Office be invited to appear on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, regarding their Supplementary Estimates (B) 2012–2013 and their recent Performance Report; and
6. That the President of the Public Service Commission be invited to appear at the meeting of Thursday, December 13, 2012, to present her annual report and other Commission reports recently presented to Parliament.
