The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met in a televised session at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room C-110, 1 Wellington Street, the Chair, Pat Martin, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Scott Armstrong, Denis Blanchette, Kelly Block, Alexandre Boulerice, Peter Braid, Jacques Gourde, Pat Martin, Hon. John McCallum, Bernard Trottier and Mike Wallace.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Laurie Hawn for Ron Cannan and Anne Minh-Thu Quach for Mathieu Ravignat.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Tina Lise LeGresley, Analyst; Lindsay McGlashan, Analyst.

 

Appearing: Hon. Rona Ambrose, Minister of Public Works and Government Services and Minister for Status of Women.

 

Witnesses: Shared Services Canada: Liseanne Forand, President; Grant Westcott, Chief Operating Officer, President's Office.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c)(i) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, the Committee commenced its study of the new entity Shared Services Canada.
 

The Minister made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 4:34 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:35 p.m., the Committee resumed sitting in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the meeting scheduled for Thursday, December 15, be cancelled.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite Mario Dion, nominee for the position of Public Sector Integrity Commissioner, to appear at its meeting of Tuesday, December 13, 2011, pursuant to Standing Order 111.1(1).

 

It was agreed, — That a meeting of the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be convened when the House of Commons resumes sitting in January 2012 in order to plan the Committee’s business.

 

At 4:41 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
