The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in camera at 11:02 a.m. this day, in Room C-160, 1 Wellington Street, the Chair, the Hon. Rob Moore, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Scott Armstrong, Tyrone Benskin, Marjolaine Boutin-Sweet, Gordon Brown, Paul Calandra, Andrew Cash, Parm Gill, Jim Hillyer, Hon. Rob Moore, Scott Simms and Terence Young.

 

Acting Members present: Robert Aubin for Pierre Nantel.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michael Dewing, Analyst; Marion Ménard, Analyst. House of Commons: Cynara Corbin, Procedural Clerk.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

That the 2nd Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in as amended:

That on Tuesday, April 3, Tuesday, April 24 and Thursday, April 26, 2012, the meetings be devoted to the Committee’s study of Canada’s 150th anniversary in 2017; and that the Fédération des communautés francophones et acadienne, the Confederation Centre for the Arts and Jim Watson, Mayor of Ottawa be added to the list of witnesses to be invited for this study.

That on Tuesday, May 1, Thursday, May 3, Tuesday, May 8 and Thursday, May 10, 2012, the meetings be devoted to the Committee’s review of national protocol procedures.

That on Tuesday, May 15 and on Thursday, May 17, 2012, the meetings be devoted to the consideration of the draft report in relation to the Committee’s study of Canada’s 150th anniversary in 2017.

That on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, the meeting be devoted to the study of Bill S-201, An act respecting a National Philanthropy Day Act.

That on Thursday, May 31, and Tuesday, June 5, 2012, the meetings be devoted to reviewing Canada’s preparations for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in London; and that these meetings be televised if possible.

That on Thursday, June 7 and Tuesday, June 12, 2012, the meetings be devoted to the consideration of the draft report in relation the Committee’s review of national protocol procedures.

That Leslie H. Oliver's statement be taken as read into the Committee's evidence of Thursday, November 24, 2011.

 

At 11:25 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
