The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met in camera at 11:05 a.m. this day, in Room 8-53, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, Merv Tweed, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Malcolm Allen, Alex Atamanenko, Ruth Ellen Brosseau, Pierre Lemieux, Francine Raynault, Blake Richards, Brian Storseth, Merv Tweed, Frank Valeriote and Bob Zimmer.

Acting Members present: Chungsen Leung for Randy Hoback and Brad Trost for LaVar Payne.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge, Analyst ; Khamla Heminthavong, Analyst.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of the animal products supply chain (red meat).

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of agricultural and agri-food products supply chain (grains and oilseeds).

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That pursuant to the Order of Reference dated Friday, May 10, 2013, the Committee undertake the study of the Supplementary Estimates (A) 2013-14, specifically Votes 1a,10a and 30a under AGRICULTURE AND AGRI-FOOD.

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food to appear in relation to the study of the Supplementary Estimates (A) 2013-14.

At 12:34 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
