The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in a televised session at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Gary Ralph Schellenberger, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Charlie Angus, Rod Bruinooge, Dean Del Mastro, Shelly Glover, Nina Grewal, Carole Lavallée, Roger Pomerleau, Pablo Rodriguez, Gary Ralph Schellenberger, Scott Simms and Tim Uppal.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Hedy Fry for Ruby Dhalla.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, March 11, 2009, the Committee resumed its study on the evolution of the television industry in Canada and its impact on local communities.
 

Sylvin Lacroix, Caroll Jacques, Steve Anderson, Ian Morrison, Tim Todd and Tara Walker made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:00 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:04 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Tom Perlmutter, Alex Levasseur, Chantal Larouche, Peter Murdoch, Lise Lareau and Marc-Philippe Laurin made statements and answered questions.

 

At 6:40 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
