The Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs met at 3:45 p.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, David Sweet, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Guy André, Scott Andrews, Rob Clarke, Judy Foote, Roger Gaudet, Greg Kerr, Ben Lobb, Phil McColeman, Tilly O'Neill-Gordon, Hon. Judy Sgro, Peter Stoffer and David Sweet.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michel Rossignol, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of Veterans Affairs: Doug Clorey, Director, Mental Health Policy Directorate; Brenda MacCormack, Director, New Veterans Charter Program; Darragh Mogan, Director General, Program and Service Policy Division.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on February 9, 2009, the Committee resumed its comparison study of veterans services offered by members of the Commonwealth and the G8.
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:16 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:17 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee travel to Charlottetown, PEI on May 24 – May 25 in relation to the comparison study of veterans' services offered by Members of the Commonwealth and the G8.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee travel to The Commonwealth War Graves Commission - Canadian Agency at 66 Slater Street on May 4, 2009 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in relation to the comparison study of veterans' services offered by Members of the Commonwealth and the G8.

 

At 5:29 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
