The Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development met in camera at 11:09 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Colin Mayes, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Harold Albrecht, Jean Crowder, Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Marc Lemay, Yvon Lévesque, Colin Mayes, Hon. Anita Neville, Todd Norman Russell and Brian Storseth.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Gurbax Malhi for Gary Merasty and Bradley R. Trost for Rod Bruinooge.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mary Hurley, Analyst; Tonina Simeone, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study on Post-Secondary Education.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure discuss a focus for the study on Housing, and that the main Committee consider its recommendations and discuss appropriate witnesses at its meeting on February 6, 2007.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee hear officials from Statistics Canada and representatives from the First Nations Statistical Instititute at its meeting on February 6, 2007, and from officials from Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, and Health Canada at its meeting on February 13, 2007, in relation to its study of Housing.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee hear officials from the Office of the Auditor General and from Indian and Northern Affairs Canada at its meeting on February 8, 2007, in relation to its study of the BC Treaty Process.

 

At 1:04 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
