The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met in a televised session at 11:07 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D Centre Block, the Chair, Brent St. Denis, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Gérard Binet, Paul Crête, Hon. Joe Fontana, Cheryl Gallant, Hon. Gurbax Malhi, Brian Masse, James Rajotte, Brent St. Denis and Hon. Lyle Vanclief.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Mark Eyking for Hon. David Collenette, Christian Jobin for Hon. Herb Dhaliwal and Karen Redman for Marlene Jennings.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lalita Acharya, Analyst; Dan Shaw, Analyst.

Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2004-2005: Votes 1, 5, 10, L15, L20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100 and 105 under INDUSTRY referred to the Committee on Tuesday, February 24, 2004.
 

The Chair called Vote 1 under INDUSTRY.

 

The Minister made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 1:11 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
