The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met at 11:05 a.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Vice-Chair, Tony Valeri, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Roy Cullen, Ken Epp, Paul Forseth, Robert Lanctôt, Judy Sgro, Paul Szabo, Tony Tirabassi and Tony Valeri.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jack Stilborn, Analyst.
Witnesses: From the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat: Robert J. Mellon, Director Estimates Production, Comptrollership Branch; David Bickerton, Executive Director, Expenditure Operations & Estimates Directorate, Comptrollership Branch; Dennis Kam, Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Corporate Services Branch. From the Department of Public Works and Government Services: Jane Billings, Assistant Deputy Minister, Corporate Policy and Infrastructure Branch; Rodney Monette, Assistant Deputy Minister, Operations Branch. From the Communication Canada: Liseanne Forand, Assistant Executive Director, Communications Programs and Services; Chantale Cousineau-Mahoney, Director General, Corporate Services.
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the Committee commenced its study of the Supplementary Estimates (B) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2003, referred to the Committee on Wednesday, February 26, 2003.
David Bickerton made an opening statement and with Robert Mellon answered questions.
At 12:00 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
