Monday, November 22, 1999
The Sub-Committee on Corrections and Conditional Release Act of the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Paul DeVillers, presiding.
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Paul DeVillers, Jim Gouk, Ivan Grose, Peter MacKay, Jacques Saada, Pierrette Venne and Tom Wappel.
Other Member present: Hon. Andy Scott.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, Senior Analyst and Lynn Casavant, Researcher.
Witnesses: From the Correctional Service of Canada: Ole Ingstrup, Commissioner. From the National Parole Board: Willie Gibbs, Chairman. From the Ministry of the Solicitor General of Canada: Jean T. Fournier, Deputy Solicitor General.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), a statutory review of the Corrections and Conditional Release Act.
The witnesses made opening statement and answered questions.
At 5:36 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
