MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 29

Monday, October 16, 2000

The Standing Committee on Health met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building for organizational purposes.

Members of the Committee present: Ray Bonin, Bonnie Brown, Yvon Charbonneau, Ovid Jackson, Val Meredith, Marcel Proulx, Rose-Marie Ur, Judy Wasylycia-Leis.

Acting Members present: Murray Calder for Ted McWhinney, André Harvey for Carolyn Parrish, Susan Whelan for Beth Phinney, Inky Mark for Keith Martin, Monique Guay for Réal Ménard.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Nancy Miller Chenier and Sonya Norris, Research Officers.

Pursuant to Standing Orders 106(1) and (2), the Clerk of the Committee presided over the election of the Chair.

On motion of Raymond Bonin, it was agreed, - That Bonnie Brown do take the chair of the Committee as Chair.

Accordingly, Bonnie Brown was declared duly elected Chair of the Committee and took the chair.

On motion of Val Meredith, it was agreed, - That Jim Jones be elected in absentia Vice-Chair of the Committee.

On motion of Raymond Bonin, it was agreed, - That Ovid Jackson be elected Vice-Chair of the Committee.

On motion of Monique Guay, it was agreed, - That the Committee do now adjourn.

At 3:40 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
