Motions

By unanimous consent, Mr. Milliken (Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Government in the House of Commons), seconded by Mr. Malhi (Bramalea–Gore–Malton), moved, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), concerning a review of the Citizenship Act, the House authorize the required personnel of the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration to travel from place to place for the purpose of preparing and holding video-teleconference sittings during the weeks of May 31 and June 6, 1994.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.

Messages from the Senate

A message was received from the Senate informing this House that the Senate passed Bill S–3, An Act to authorize General Security Insurance Company of Canada to be continued as a corporation under the laws of the Province of Québec, to which the concurrence of the House is desired.

Pursuant to Standing Order 135(2), the Bill was deemed to have been read the first time and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.

Government Orders

The Order was read for the second reading and reference to the Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development of Bill C–34, An Act respecting self-government for first nations in the Yukon Territory.
