DAILY ROUTINE OF BUSINESS

Tabling of documents

Pursuant to Standing Order 32(2), Mr. Milliken (Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Government in the House of Commons) laid upon the Table, -- Government responses, pursuant to Standing Order 36(8), to the following petitions:

(1) No. 351-4003 concerning sexual assault. -- Sessional Paper No. 8545-351-34M;

(2) No. 351-4016 concerning the Criminal Code of Canada. -- Sessional Paper No. 8545-351-142F;

(3) Nos. 351-4025 to 351-4028 and 351-4031 concerning the Canadian Human Rights Act. -- Sessional Paper No. 8545-351-3PP.

Introduction of private members' bills

Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Mr. Axworthy (Saskatoon -- Clark's Crossing), seconded by Mr. Solomon (Regina -- Lumsden), Bill C-363, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (juvenile prostitution), was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.

Presenting petitions

Pursuant to Standing Order 36, petitions certified correct by the Clerk of Petitions were presented as follows:

-- by Mr. Harb (Ottawa Centre), one concerning the Canadian Human Rights Act (No. 351-4089);

-- by Mr. Breitkreuz (Yorkton -- Melville), one concerning the Canadian Wheat Board (No. 351-4090);

-- by Mr. Solomon (Regina -- Lumsden), one concerning hormone use in livestock (No. 351-4091).

GOVERNMENT ORDERS

The Order was read for the second reading and reference to the Standing Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs of Bill C-110, An Act respecting constitutional amendments.

Mr. Rock (Minister of Justice), seconded by Mr. Massé (President of the Queen's Privy Council for Canada and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs), moved, -- That the Bill be now read a second time and referred to the Standing Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs.

Debate arose thereon.

MOTIONS

By unanimous consent, it was ordered, -- That, notwithstanding any Standing Order, if, on Friday, December 8, 1995, any division is demanded with regard to any business pursuant to Standing Order 81, the said division shall be deferred until 15 minutes before the expiry of the time allotted to Government Orders on Monday, December 11, 1995, and, immediately after the disposal of the said division, the House shall dispose of all other business relating to the business of supply in the manner set out in Standing Order 81(17).

The House resumed consideration of the motion of Mr. Mayfield (Cariboo -- Chilcotin), seconded by Mr. Gilmour (Comox -- Alberni), -- That Bill C-315, An Act to complement the present laws of Canada that protect the privacy of individuals with respect to personal information about themselves obtained by certain corporations, be now read a second time and referred to the Standing Committee on Industry.

The debate continued.

Pursuant to Standing Order 93, the Order was dropped to the bottom of the order of precedence on the Order Paper.

MESSAGES FROM THE SENATE

A message was received from the Senate as follows:

    ORDERED: That a Message be sent to the House of Commons to acquaint that House that the Senate has passed C-102, An Act to amend the Customs Act and the Customs Tariff and to make related and consequential amendments to other Acts, without amendment.
